I was a bad, bad girl yesterday. And it was all the fault of my mouse, because my right mouse button broke (which is a Very Bad Thing when you are in World of Warcraft surrounded by murlocs, BTW) so I had to go to Best Buy to get a new one.

Only once I was there, obviously I had to buy S3 of Arrested Development, because--duh--it's Arrested Development. And I had to get the new LOTR editions, because [livejournal.com profile] mikijean told me I had to and I always do what [livejournal.com profile] mikijean says. And then I had to buy The Office, but not just The Office S2, the limited edition Dunder Mifflin Severance Package set, because OMG awesome! It comes in a mini paper box! With a Dunder Mifflin notepad! And post-it notes! And Dwight's business card! Plus a hilarious dayplanner with Michael's notes all over it. And both seasons for only $10 more. Totally worth it. And then of course I came home and convinced [livejournal.com profile] austin360 and [livejournal.com profile] tlbelle that they had to have it too. Because I am evil.

Mitch Hurwitz Quits Arrested Development

Not that I was really holding out much hope at this point, but my heart is broken. Why, Mitch, why?

The West Wing is about to get crowded

WW casting spoilers ahoy )

Squee! SQUEE! More squee! As if the J/D stuff wasn't enough incentive--I am SO gonna be tuning in for the rest of the season. I'm not gonna like it, I'm sure, but I'll be glued to the TV nonetheless.

Last night's Gilmore Girls was just plain lame. Not stab-myself-in-the-eye hateful like a Daniel Palladino episode, just kinda boring. Bridesmaids Revisited )

Rumors continue to circulate around the internets about Arrested Development and Showtime, but STILL nothing official or even vaguely reliable sounding. Gah. Give me something, people!

Josh Horowitz's blog is claiming that Showtime has picked up Arrested Development.

I'm trying not to get excited until there's some kind of official confirmation, but ZOMGYAY!!!11!

Peace out

I have Blue Bell King Cake ice cream in my freezer. All is right with the world. :)

The SAGs last night were eh. Mostly I was just so disappointed that Desperate Housewives won the Ensemble Comedy award over Arrested Development that it ruined the whole show for me. I mean--seriously--what is WRONG with people?

Grey's Anatomy, on the other hand, was one of the best episodes in ages. I want to marry George O'Malley. No, really. *loves* And Halfrek was Bailey's replacement! And she was awesome! Last week it was the Mayor on Bones, this week Halfrek on GA. I love it when Buffy alum show up on my favorite shows.

I feel like there was something else I was going to post about, but if there was I've forgotten it. Oh well.

A Post for the New Year in Bullet Points:

- Happy 2006! May all your wishes for the new year come true, and may it be happier than 2005.

- Christmas in the Sus household was lovely and mostly stress-free. Plus, I got lots of sweet loot, mostly in the form of a giant stack of DVDs (mostly television shows), so I can knit and watch my way through 2006.

- New Years was wonderful, what with a visit from [livejournal.com profile] austin360 and dutch and dutch's friend J who was delightful. We ate way too much good food, saw Bob Schneider (Bob!), went to Austin, saw [livejournal.com profile] austin360's brother's band play in a skeezy biker bar, came back to Houston and spent a lovely New Year's eve watching Sports Night (shoe money tonight!), playing poker and listening to Richard (the friend who stayed with us during Hurricane Rita) play guitar.

- Also, weirdly, I don't think I've ever mentioned here that Richard's actually been living with us for like the last three months. He broke up with his old girlfriend and needed a place to stay until he could work out another living arrangement and he's just now moved into his new place. I guess I never posted about it because he used my computer all the time and therefore had access to my LJ and I would have felt weird if he'd seen that I was writing about him. He was a completely inoffensive house guest and the munchkin adored him, so it was no biggie, but it's nice to have it be just us in the house again. And to be able to fill up the guest room with crap, because everyone knows that's what guest rooms are really for.

- After months of labor, I managed to finish [livejournal.com profile] austin360's Gryffindor scarf in time for Christmas, and it turned out quite well, if I do say so myself. I may make myself a Slytherin scarf one day, but I need to take a break from the tedium of scarves for a while. Pic! )

- I finished my Bubblefic! Go me! Now I just need to let it sit overnight before I take a last pass at it. And if anyone has time to do a quick beta pass for me I'd be most indebted. (It's BSG if that matters.)

- Save Our Bluths was the most awesome potential last episode of a television series ever aired. By the time Judge Reinhold walked in I actually had to pause the TiVo so I could clutch my stomach and try to recover from laughing so hard.

- I'm making a big pot of chili, despite the fact that it's currently 79 degrees outside. Ah, winter in Texas.

That is all.

Had an AWESOME weekend with [livejournal.com profile] austin360! First, we saw Bob Schneider on Friday night. He didn't play "Tokyo" for austin, but we met up with dutch's friend Julie and some of her friends and had a blast dancing to all our other favorite songs. And Bob did an excellent cover of "Sex Machine" and another one of "The Weight." Sweet. Afterwards we hung around the club to buy the CD of that night's show and got Bob to autograph them for us. Sadly, I didn't have my camera with me, but next time I'm bringing it for sure.

Then on Saturday we went to Space Center Houston, and NASA just happened to be having their once-a-year open house that day, so we got to go inside the old Mission Control! SQUEEEE! It was amazing. Just walking down the halls of that building was awe-inspiring, but actually standing in Mission Control? Whoa. Just whoa. And once again, I totally failed to have my camera. Damn! But austin did get to chat up a cute space doctor!

I also turned her on to Arrested Development and my boyfriend Jason Bateman this weekend. Can you believe the girl had never seen an episode? We made our way through half of the first season and she is a bona fide convert now. Just in time for the damn show to get cancelled. Bah.

Speaking of, if you haven't yet, go to http://www.getarrested.com/ and sign the petition. It won't help, but at least it's something. Also? V. hot picture of Jason Bateman (LOVE him in the blue!) and totally sweet Tobias video.

Hey, [livejournal.com profile] austin360, the package came yesterday! Squeeeeee! You're the greatest, hon! I watched the extended pilot last night. ::loves:: I need to find me a good Arrested Development icon. Hmmmm...

Speaking of great television, House totally rocked last night. House )

On the sore throat front, it still hurts, but it feels like it's getting better. Still no fever (which would point to strep) or other symptoms (which would point to common cold). I'm at a loss. I'm tempted to call the doctor, but then if it's getting better, I dunno. Bah.
